We had one week full of severe weather not too long ago. Growing up in the midwest, tornado and t-storm watches don't phase me too much. It was about 9:30 and I went to the grocery store to do my "big trip" where I shop for 2 weeks worth of meals. Andy was home with both kids in bed for the night. I was about half way through when a surprising announcement was made over the intercom system. The tornado watch was upgraded into a tornado warning and they gave us 5 minutes to check out or else we could go to the store freezer. Being half way through, I did not want to have to start all the way over again another night so I decide to head for the freezer. It was me and 1 worker, and 4 other girls shivering in safety. I call home and Andy has both kids down in the crawl space. Poor Andy and poor kids. Luckily, Evan kept sleeping through it all but Grace was saying things like rain, dark, and mommy. It was some of the worst rain and thunder I ever remember hearing. They kept extending the warning and the store manager said the radio even claimed a tornado touched down in Savoy (which I never heard again so I don't think it happened). Well, by the time they let us out of the freezer, my cart had been emptied by store workers and it was about 10:30. I was too tired to start all the way over again. I headed home with milk and decided tomorrow night I'd have to use my night owl hours for grocery shopping, again. I don't think I'll ever forget that and I'm sure Andy won't either. ;) G

Yikes! My bet is that Andy had a harder time than you did! How big is your crawl space? Wow. And how disappointing you didn't get to shop after all!
Bummer! We need that rain down here, but I know you have all been having a time of it in Illinois! At least Evan won't remember a thing, and I bet Grace will forget soon enough. Hope the return grocery trip was less eventful!
Yah, that had to be frustrating after all your shopping! Glad you guys were safe, though.
oh no!! what a scary experience. glad to hear you are all okay!!
Ask away whenever. :) It's been an interesting experiment. Tomorrow, someone's coming in to have her water broken and she wants to deliver naturally, so I'm hoping to see the difference between epidural and no epidural...should be interesting!
